Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Route Relay and Route Relay TMS collect, use, and protect personal information, including operational SMS messaging information.
Information We Collect
Route Relay may collect contact details, operational shipment information, driver profile information, device and usage information, and communication records needed to provide dispatch, tracking, settlement, and support services.
How We Use Information
We use this information to operate the transportation management platform, coordinate shipments, communicate with drivers and staff, manage dispatch and delivery workflows, maintain audit trails, and provide customer support.
MC and USDOT Number Lookups
A number typed on our site is looked up in FMCSA's public record. It is kept with a workspace only if you start a trial. Until then it sits in a short-lived lookup cache and is not tied to you. For a carrier's USDOT number we also read public inspection records, the roadside inspections FMCSA publishes. Unit numbers, makes and counts from those records, and the states where those trucks and trailers were inspected, most inspected first, may be shown on our public pages; vehicle identification numbers and plates are not. What we read sits in a short-lived cache. When a trial starts with a number, the carrier's roadside inspections and the trucks and trailers seen in the last 365 days are copied into that workspace, with their vehicle identification numbers and plates. We confirm the email address of the person who starts a trial; we do not confirm that they work for the carrier.
SMS Messaging
Operational SMS messages are sent only to users who have directly provided their mobile number and consented to receive operational text messages from Route Relay. These messages may include dispatch updates, load status updates, ETA changes, appointment updates, and delivery communications. Message frequency varies by dispatch activity. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We may use service providers that help us operate our platform and communications infrastructure, but only for business operations and service delivery.
Retention and Security
We retain operational and communication records only as long as needed for business, legal, and compliance purposes, and we apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect that information.
SMS Privacy Notice
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Request Data Deletion
Drivers and staff using the Route Relay Driver app or the Route Relay TMS can request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time. Email sales@routerelay.io (or contact your dispatch office) with your name and the phone number you use to sign in. We will deactivate the account, revoke device and biometric sign-in tokens, and delete personal profile data - including name, contact details, and uploaded personal documents - within 30 days of the request.
Operational shipment and compliance records that transportation regulations require us to keep (for example delivery documents, hours-of-service, and settlement records) are retained for their legally mandated periods and deleted afterward.
